Len Fisher's Books and Book Chapters
My books are aimed to help people see and understand the world through a scientist’s eyes, with a good leavening of humour, anecdote and the personal stories of scientists thrown in.
The scientist’s basic belief is that the world does not work according to common sense.
Once you catch on to this belief, you can really start to enjoy what science has to say without having to be a scientist yourself.
I would like to see science as a part of our wider culture, on a par with religion, literature, philosophy and art as an aid to seeing and understanding the world. You don’t have to be an artist to enjoy a picture, or a writer to appreciate a good book. You don’t have to be a scientist to enjoy and appreciate the picture that science gives of the world, either.
